Annenberg Public Policy Center

"With offices in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the Policy Center conducts and disseminates research, hosts lectures and conferences and convenes expert panels to address important questions about the intersection of media, communication and public policy. The Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania performs research in the fields of political communication, information and society, media and the developing child, health communication and adolescent risk. The Policy Center's goal is to provide expert analysis that brings these issues into focus. The Center builds upon the scholarship produced by the Annenberg School for Communication." Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication

AEJMC features resources for scholarships, employment opportunities and event information.

Communication Institute for Online Scholarship (CIOS)

This is a not-for-profit organization supporting the use of computer technologies in the service of communication scholarship and education. The CIOS is an organization supported primarily through individual and institutional memberships, through publication of The Electronic Journal of Communication, and through sales of software products to assist communication scholarship (e.g., ComAbstracts and ComIndex). Created by Teri Harrison and Tim Stephens, now at University at Albany, SUNY. The CIOS was inaugurated in 1990, designed to function as a parent organization for the set of online activities that had been initiated in 1986 as the Comserve service.

National Communication Association 

"NCA is the oldest and largest national organization serving the academic discipline of Communication. Research and instruction in the discipline focus on the study of how messages in various media are produced, used, and interpreted within and across different contexts, channels, and cultures.

Society of Professional Journalists

Established in April 1909, SPJ, is one of the oldest organizations representing journalists in the U.S.
