IST 605: Ancient Civilizations

        Welcome ninth grade students! We’ve been learning about civilizations and the lasting impacts they have made on our modern society. These civilizations expanded their power and influence through vast territories using a variety of systems. It can be difficult to imagine the expansion of power through limited ways of communication. Nevertheless, these civilizations thrived and have made an impact on the world around us.

This resource will help you as you select and research your classical civilizations in Eurasia and Mesoamerica for your Ancient Civilization project. Once you have selected your civilization of interest, you will be able to use this resource to locate sources that will help you better understand these vast territories and the lasting impacts they have made on our society. After navigating the provided resources, you should have a comprehensive view of the political systems, beliefs, conflicts and the factors that eventually led to the fall of each civilization. As you use this resource, you will find each civilization listed along with resources pertaining to each.
