Peer-reviewed sources are ones in which experts in a field critically evaluate a work before publication. Professors will often ask you to use peer-reviewed sources because this rigorous review process adds a layer of credibility to the information in the source. 

But what happens when scholars start to use generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to help them produce their research? What effect might this have on the credibility of these sources?
