UUNI100 Student FYE Alternative Infographic Project Guide

This is a guide to the new/alternative version of the Infographic Project for UUNI 100.

Welcome & Introduction

College research can be tricky. Even if you did research in high school, research in college can come with stricter expectations, especially around what topics you research, what types of sources you use, and how you give credit to those sources in order to avoid issues like plagiarism.

Consider the skills listed below.

  • Identifying a gap in knowledge
  • Making choices about where and how to search for information
  • Choosing appropriate sources
  • Evaluating the quality and relevance of a source
  • Giving credit to the sources found
  • Asking for help when needed

There are likely at least a few skills from the list that you aren’t familiar with or may just want to learn more about. Identify at least three such skills that you think will be relevant to your research assignment for UUNI 100.

Use this guide to learn more about the skills you identified above. The guide is organized by skill/topic. Use the menu on the side to select the skill/topic you would like to learn more about, then read through the relevant information for that skill/topic to learn more.
