Databases
Google Scholar. Google Scholar is a public search engine that allows users to find scholarly articles, theses, and books. Students can link their UAlbany accounts to Google Scholar to filter results and access materials available through the university.
MEDLINE (PubMed). An authoritative bibliographic database maintained by the National Library of Medicine, providing access to journals focused on medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and healthcare. It is a component of PubMed. The National Library of Medicine staff index articles according to the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), which is a standardized vocabulary to ensure search precision and consistency.
PubMed. PubMed is a widely used database developed by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, offering access to a vast collection of biomedical and health-related literature. It indexes scholarly articles from MEDLINE and other life science sources, providing access to 38 million citations and abstracts from biomedical and life sciences literature, supporting research, clinical practice, and education.
PsycINFO. A comprehensive database published by the American Psychological Association (APA) that provides access to indexes and articles of international literature in psychology and other related behavioral sciences. The database provides comprehensive coverage of articles from the 1880s to the present, but also includes records from the 1600s and 1700s and gives students access to over 5,000,000 peer-reviewed records.
PsycARTICLES. Another comprehensive database published by the APA that provides access to full-text, peer-reviewed articles published by APA journals and other affiliated journals. It offers journal coverage dating back to 1894 and encompasses a wide range of quality research in domains including addiction, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, etc.
