For this topic, search engines like Google Search can be easy to navigate and incredibly useful when looking for new ideas for art and stress reduction. Google Scholar is an option when looking for peer-reviewed or academic resources on the psychology of creativity and on art therapy. 

PsycINFO 

PsycINFO is a resourceful database for finding materials related to psychology. Check if you have access through your school or local public library. 

PubMed -- Help Page

PubMed is excellent for finding information related to medicine or health sciences. Many articles include helpful abstracts. 

Taylor & Francis Online -- Help Page

This database includes articles from art therapy-focused academic journals such as the International Journal of Art Therapy. It also hosts open access materials that can be read or used by anyone. 

Academic Journals & Professional Organizations

Art Therapy 

Art Therapy is the official academic journal of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), a professional organization of art therapists, students, and institutions that practice and promote the growth of art therapy in the US. It has been in publication for over 30 years and is a leading research journal in the field. 

Canadian Journal of Art Therapy 

The Canadian Journal of Art Therapy is the official academic journal of the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA). It has a diverse approach to research by highlighting both western and BIPOC perspectives.
