Conceived of by VP DFRED Kesh Kesavadas, UAlbany launched the AI Supercomputing Initiative, a public-private partnership with the goal of expanding AI capacity iat UAlbany and in the Capital Region, with a focus beyond traditional STEM disciplines. This research and teaching endeavor is supported by an appropriation of $75 million from the State of New York to support a Cluster Hire of 49 faculty in the social sciences, arts and humanities as well as scientific disciplines.
