Library Services for UAlbany in the High School Students

This is a basic guide to the University Libraries for University at Albany in the High School Students.

Online Research Resources

*NEW starting June 5, 2023*— The following UAlbany Libraries' subscription resources are now available to UAlbany in the High School students both while you are visiting the campus and remotely by logging into your account:

  • Online Journal Databases:

The University Libraries subscribe to over 200 online databases containing records and full-text of both scholarly and popular periodicals. You now have access to these databases remotely using your UAlbany NetID!
 

  • E-Books:

While searching using the libraries' search tool, you may locate e-books which the library has purchased. Most of these will be now accessible if you are logged in with your UAlbany Net ID.

The following online resources remain available to both you and your students from anywhere:

  • NOVEL Databases

NOVEL Databases: As a citizen of New York State, you have access to this collection of research databases containing information and articles on a variety of topics.

  • Open Access Journal Databases

A growing number of journals are making their content available freely to anyone. A couple resources are highlighted below to get you started, but more information can be found at Open Access Links.

PLOS: The Public Library of Science is a collection of open access, peer-reviewed science journals.

DOAJ: The Directory of Open Access Journals currently provides searchable access to 1.7 million journal articles in a variety of fields.
