Cited Reference Searches for Promotion and Tenure

The University Libraries subscribe to Web of Science so that persons preparing tenure and promotion dossiers may conduct cited reference searching.

Web of Science provides 3 citation indexes formerly received in print or CD-ROM format:

  • Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), previously called Science Citation Index
  • Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)
  • Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI).

Coverage: current year, plus 20 years of backfiles.

Please visit the Scholarly Metrics page for more information.

What is PAWS?

Your time is valuable. We’ll help you make the most of it.

A one hour appointment with a reference librarian is available to UAlbany, students, faculty and staff. A librarian can assist you by providing:

  • Research assistance and guidance
  • Pointers on specialized databases to get in-depth information in your field of study
  • Assistance with selecting search terms that will yield better results
  • Search strategies and search tips
  • Citations to resources available from other libraries
  • Searches for people with disabilities

Click here to make a PAWS appointment.  Appointments are held in one of the PAWS offices, first floor of the University Library, unless otherwise notified.

Faculty and graduate students -- you may wish to make an appointment with your subject librarian for in-depth research consultation.
