Dimensions & Sizes

  • Fonts- 12-14px or 1EM – Arial #000 or black – anti aliased.
  • Spacing - normal 12px spacing or 1.5 at the most.
  • Headings - In boxes use H3 tags for titles,  H4 for subtitles.
  • Typography – Left Justified by default, know when to use other justified fonts.

QUICK TIP - For browsers and applications:

  • ENLARGE text size: Press "ctrl +" together—the control key and the plus sign key.
  • REDUCE text size: Press "ctrl -" together -- the control key and the dash key.

Boxes

  • Keep them consistent in color backgrounds and title text.
  • Use boxes, but Limit your boxes to no more than 7-10 per page
  • Highlight a box by changing it's background color to a shade or yellow, red, or blue - see home page of this guide as an example
  • Use boxes to organize your content and design

Tabs

  • Try to avoid words like "FIND" as in "Find books", "Find Articles", in tabs.
  • Keep tabs square for consistency.
  • Avoid using more than three words for a tab name.

Comments in your Pages and Boxes
