This is a detailed historical timeline starting at the origin of the US National Parks, and highlighting some of the most important changes and advancements that have been made since then. The timeline mentions different acts, policies, and missions that have taken place over the years by the US government and past presidents to help improve the parks and strengthen the National Parks Services.
Mapping the National Parks
This is a curated collection gathered by the Library of Congress that contains the history, cultural aspects, and geological formations that led to what is now the US National Park lands. This collection has around 200 different maps depicting early mapping images of the land from around the early 17th century depicting Yellowstone National Park, Acadia National Park, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park.
