This resource provided by the National Park Services is an up-to-date active alert webpage that lists any conditions listed for National Parks in the US. This page lists and categorizes alerts by four categories: danger, closure, caution, and information, and you are also able to navigate closures by state and even by park! Using a resource such as this one is vital when planning a national park visit because you need to be aware of how conditions may affect your ability to travel, camp, hike, or visit in general.

 

Aquarius Web Data Portal

Water Data Portal

This is an online interactive portal provided by the National Parks Services that allows users to search for, view, and download continuous water quality conditions and quantity time-series datasets. The site allows you to check the water qualitiy for different areas on an interactive map, and it will then provide a concise summary report on the water quality report or concerns that are currently being reported for the area. This is a great resource for anyone visiting a National Park that plans to do any water activities and needs to know water conditions before planning.

Live Weather and Air Quality Data

Live Air Quality Data

This is a cool interactive source provided by the National Park Services for users to explore when researching certain areas air and weather quality. It allows the user to search by location (on an interactive map of the US), search by ozone map, and search by particulate map. This can be an especially important resource for those with breathing issues or concerns who want to see if air quality conditions would be appropriate, or if air quality is appropriate for outdoor activities in general. This is becoming a more frequently need search with recent wildfires in the US polluting areas that normally have high air quality numbers.
