Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror
Horror Noire is an excellent documentary that explores the history of black people in horror movies. Including how they were originally portrayed, racist overtones and undertones within the genre, and how horror has incorporated social issues within their films. It also includes interviews with black directors, actors, and other individuals who have had some experience within the genre. A copy of it is available through the UAlbany library. However, it is not available to stream for free which may pose an issue for some.

However, it does not cover the history of the genre as a whole (i.e., international films are excluded) therefore, researchers of this topic should keep that in mind.
