Organizations That Teach Yiddish
Duolingo, Pronunciator, Mango Languages, and YiddishPOP are helpful for getting started learning Yiddish on your own, but there are also some organizations that offer Yiddish classes guided by an actual instructor. If this sounds like it is a better fit for you, then check out these organizations.
It should be noted that these organizations charge a fee for their courses and they can become quite expensive. If you are already a member or sign up for a membership you will receive a discount, however.

Beginner Yiddish at YIVO
The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research provides both online (via Zoom) and in-person classes for learning Yiddish. The classes run for a total of 12 weeks and are more suitable for learners who do better with assistance from an instructor. Unlike the online resources, instructors can provide feedback on your speech and writing. -
Yiddish Classes at The Workers Circle
The Workers Circle, sometimes called Der Arbiter Rung, offers both in-person and online Yiddish classes. For beginners who do not yet know the alef-beys, there are dedicated classes for learning how to read the Yiddish alphabet. They also offer classes about klezmer and Yiddish song -- part of their mission is to keep this music alive just as much as the language. -
Yiddish Classes from the Yiddish Book Center
The Yiddish Book Center offers online Yiddish classes that follow their textbook, In Eynem. There are classes for all levels of learners, from those who don't yet know the alef-beys to advanced learners. These classes can be expensive, especially since there is a required textbook, but the Yiddish Book Center offers a free introductory lesson. Try it out and see if it's what you're looking for!
If the classes being held by these organizations are outside of your budget or you are not located in the vicinity of where the classes are being held, try reaching out to your local Jewish Community Center (JCC). Some JCCs host Yiddish classes of their own or will know of more localized organizations who might provide classes. Find your closest JCC here.
