Welcome to SEL (social-emotional learning) in children's literature!
Over the past few years, Social-Emotional Learning has had a strong presence in many elementary schools. Some schools have set times for instruction on these topics, such as the Second Step curriculum. With this rise of learning styles and material in the classroom, present and future educators must have a good understanding of how they can implement it in their classrooms. What better way to introduce complex topics than through a good book?
This guide is intended for college students in early childhood education programs. However, it may also be helpful for those already working in an elementary school, librarians in training, or those who love children's literature!
