This article explores the importance of jewelry and fashion for both men and women in contemporary Tuareg culture in North Africa. Jewelry is passed down through generations, and exchanged during weddings. Women wear earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings which signify her status as a married, unmarried, or widowed woman. Different materials signify different classes among Tuareg men and women, and is also thought to bring wearers various benefits such as protection or happiness.

This article studies the connection between ancient Egyptian culture and jewelry design. Different motifs and materials  symbolized various religious and social meanings, such as gold and copper representing the sun. Ornate jewelry was not just worn by the living, but also buried with the dead. The authors explore how ancient Egyptian jewelry was created with the outwardly aesthetic, functional, and reflective designs in mind.

The jewelry encompasses headdresses, earrings, bracelets, hair ornaments, and other forms of jewelry.
