shining lightbulbInformation privilege is a complicated topic with many different facets, only a few of which we were able to touch on in this brief guide. As with many things related to research and writing, generative AI is only making this issue more complicated in ways we are still trying to understand.  

For your final activity, choose one of the following and reflect on your own response, based on your thoughts, opinions, experiences, and any additional research you might choose to do:  

 

  • Why does unequal access to information matter in general?  
  • What inequalities might unequal access to generative AI introduce to students and their academic work specifically?  
  • What recommendations might you make for how universities might address unequal access to generative AI, either now or in the future?
