So... How does this work?
As we all know school librarians and library staff are often seen providing general support, cultivating positive relationships with pupils, creating and maintaining a welcoming environment, contributing towards social inclusion and pupil self-esteem and providing emotional support. (Webber et al, 2024) So given our connection to the community and our students, we are able to provide personal recommendations based on the needs of our individual students. Librarians are often tasked with providing and curating a collection based on overall curriculum, however what about the reluctant readers, or community connections, or even the different vibes of each class or teacher. Just having the top 10 books from one national list, does not always cater to the needs of your students. Enter... the book concierge service!
This service can be adapted for individual students, specific classes and also for teacher curriculum.
