If I could only give one piece of advice to someone looking to run a tabletop-roleplaying game as a program, it would be this: don’t run Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition without first thinking about what kind of experience you are looking to curate for your program, and looking into other options.

Despite what D&D branding would suggest, it is not the only role-playing game in the world, and there are a myriad of reasons that it might not be right for your program, or that a different game might be better. The two subsections located on the tab list contain recommendations for six games that I consider superior to Dungeons and Dragons for use in tabletop programming, categorized by their advantages over D&D.
