IST 605: Small Scale Urban Farming for Beginners

A beginner friendly guide to growing food and raising pets for production in unconventional or small spaces.

Hello!

Welcome to your guide to small scale agriculture and urban farming! Whether you’re curious about raising quail, growing food on a balcony, or just trying to live a little more sustainably without spending a fortune, this guide is here to help. You don’t need prior experience, or even a backyard to get started.

Inside, you’ll find beginner friendly resources focused on low cost, space efficient ways to grow your own food. From raising quails to composting and container gardens, each section is curated with self sufficiency and simplicity in mind.

This guide is for anyone looking to cut down grocery bills, make intentional lifestyle changes, or explore the joy of producing food right where they live. Inspired by my own experiences with commercial and residential agriculture, I put together this guide as both a starting point and a hub for building a more sustainable life, one small step (or seed) at a time.
