What to Know About Europe’s New Entry Requirement – and Entry Fee – Coming in 2025

Starting in 2025, before you head off on your European vacation, be sure to register with the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) and pay a fee. This document proves that travelers from countries, like the United States of America, that do not need visas to enter Europe are exempt. Since applicants may be asked to present additional documents or participate in an interview, it’s recommended to start this process at least a month ahead of travel plans. Without this proper documentation, Americans will be denied entry into the European Union.
