Public Health

Welcome!

Start here for tips on how to do research in public health!

School of Public Health facilty, staff and students can access the collections of both the Dickerman Library (DOH) and the University Libraries. These collections overlap, but each contains unique resources.

The University at Albany has online access to many journals in the areas of public health, biology, social welfare, psychology and statistics, as well has having books (both print and online) in these subject areas. If you are off-campus, you will be asked for your NetID and password to get access.

The Dickerman Library's (NYS DOH) collections have a strong focus on biomedical research. (The Dickerman Library can be reached at dohlib@health.state.ny.us or 518-474-6172.)

If you need help with University Libraries resources or materials, please contact me using my email on the left side. You can also use the  "Ask Us!!" on the library webpage.

To find books in public health, search our online catalog on the library home page. Search by title or title/subject keywords.

To find out if we have a journal in print or online, search our online catalog, Search by the title of the journal only.

To search for journal articles, go to the Databases on the left side.

If you have any questions on whether a journal is available online at the University at Albany, first double-check in the online catalog by searching the journal title - it covers both print and online access.... For journals that we do not have, request the article through the Interlibrary Loan service provided by the University Libraries! Please contact us with questions/problems!

Regarding UA Delivery, Health Science Campus patrons may request items (including media) from the University Libraries be delivered to the East Campus via campus mail by choosing “EAST” as their pick up location.
