Welcome to New York Counties

The pages in this library guide provide internet resources of descriptive and historical information for New York Counties.  When possible, the information regarding the local historical societies is provided as well as basic statistical information.  Other aspects of the counties are listed according to what resources are found for each individual county resulting from searching through web links.

The "All Counties" page lists web sites that have information about all counties of New York in regard to a specific theme, such as County Clerks, or State Historic Markers.

Since there is so much genealogical information easily found, this guide does not focus on geneaological resources. For a gateway to genealogical resources you may wish to explore NYGenWeb: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nygenweb/
