Research Strategies for Public Health

What does the catalog cover??

We have an online catalog for the University at Albany. When you search, you will find:

  • books (online & print)
  • journal titles (online & print)
  • DVD's and streaming video
  • government documents
  • etc.

Search SUNY Libraries to discover loanable books and other materials!

Catalog search tips.

I always recommend keeping another page with with the University at Albany catalog open when searching databases. No database offers complete coverage in full-text! If the journal article is something you want, search the journal title for the the article to try to find it in our catalog.

-What if the journal article I want is only available in print at the University Libraries?? Consider using UA Delivery (you will need your NetID and password), to quickly get articles scanned and sent to you (will take a day or two).

-What if the journal article I want is not available on the database, or through our catalog? Consider whether the Wadsworth/Dickerman library has it online (see last tab for further information). You can also use InterLibrary Loan (ILL) - you can get your article in a day or two, but you may need up to a week (or even more) to receive your article.
