Searching for Background Information
Sometimes, the best resources for finding underlying theories to various interventions are books. Check some of the basic reference books to the left to get overview entries on the various theories and then use the entry's list of references to identify original sources for theoretical information.
Keyword searches in the library catalog, MINERVA will help you locate more in-depth material on your topic. If you can't find a book by searching the specific theory, try searching for the therapies or interventions, and look for books that incorporate both theory and practice.
For example: search "cognitive behavioral therapy" and look for books that include a chapter on theory.
When searching Minerva, you may wish to use the asterisk * to find the variations of a word that you are searching. For example: theor* will search theory, theories, theoretical, etc.
Use UA Delivery to have books sent from the uptown to the downtown campus.
